Pre-flight group photograph On Saturday, October 13th, 2018, the 4th Aerial Wing "Scorpions" alongside with the North East Air Force and the Indonesian Air Force did another sortie to send aids to the victims of the Palu earthquake and tsunami. The 4th Aerial Wing "Scorpions" sent two C-17A Globemaster III strategic airlift aircrafts while the North East Air Force sent one IL-76MD "Candid" strategic airlift aircraft and the Indonesian Air Force with three Boeing 737s. Pre-flight group photograph The aircrafts took off to the city of Palu at approximately 01:00PM ZULU and headed north-east immediately after taking off. During the cruising stage, both of the 4th Aerial Wing "Scorpions"' C-17A Globemaster III aircrafts suffered mechanical problems related to their fuel tanks, which fuel leaks were spotted from the cabin and triggered some warnings in the cockpit and needed to divert to Ahmad Yani International Airport in the city of Semarang. It is currently under investigation why there were fuel leaks on both of the C-17A Globemaster III aircrafts. Post-flight group photograph After landing on Semarang, Neo-United Nations mechanics stationed on the airport immediately checked the aircrafts and decided to fix the damaged C-17A Globemaster IIIs with some "makeshift" repairs. After repairs were made, both of the damaged C-17A Globemaster IIIs went back to the air to continue their flight to Palu. Then, when the aircrafts were approaching the island of Celebes, one of the Indonesian Air Force Boeing 737s suffered an electrical problem onboard which needed to divert to the city of Makassar. Unfortunately, due to the size of the damage, the mechanics on the ground were not able to fix the aircraft quickly and said that the damaged Boeing 737 needed to stay at the airfield for at least a day. Post-flight group photograph The remaining aircrafts of the flight continued to fly towards the city of Palu. All of the remaining aircrafts landed safely on Mutiara SIS Al-Jufrie International Airport although the first aircraft that was going to land at the airport needed to do a touch-n'-go pass to make sure that the runway was safe to be landed. After getting settled at the ramps, the aids were immediately unloaded from the aircrafts and sent to nearby locations that needed them. The city governor once again thanked the Neo-United Nations for helping them and the Republic of Indonesia government to send aids for the victims of the Palu earthquake and tsunami.
